Any famous people in your family?

I don't have any but there are two actors who have my same last name.  I'm claiming them as cousins because my last name isn't common.

Actually there is, about 32 generations back I am descended from Lady Godiva and I do think she has become pretty famous.

I don't think I'm related to anyone whose ever been famous.  Or at lease known in the public eye one way or another.  I'm sure if my sisters and I dug back we'd find something.  I think we all would eventually.

My 7th-Great Grandfather was the longest sitting US Secretary of the Treasury, being chosen by Thomas Jefferson for that cabinet position. Albert Gallatin was a stanch supporter of trying to eliminate the national debt that his predecessor Alexander Hamilton had racked up. He was able to pay for the Louisiana Purchase in cash as well as funding the War of 1812 albeit by raising some Federalist taxes that he had earlier denounced. His fiscal prowess has been commemorated in a variety of ways.... There is a statue of him behind the US Treasury (on the opposite side of the building from where Alexander Hamilton's statue resides). There is a 1-1/4 cent stamp from 1967 that depicts him. People from Pennsylvania may recognize the name Gallatin from the Village of Gallatin as well as the Albert Gallatin School District in Fayette county, which is the county where his home Friendship Hill (now a national historic site). Some banking institutions also bear his name, such as Gallatin Bank and AG Edwards.

It all depends on what does it take to be famous.  Famous can mean many things and not just celebrities who aren't really likable.

I've used internet sites to create a fairly large family tree but it's a tad bit harder when they didn't keep the best or reliable record of slaves.

I am on ancestry. com.  I am kin to Ronald Reagan,  Harry S. Truman, several other presidents.  A couple of old time actors.  I am kin to Queen Elizabeth and all the king and queen of England.  One line we came through Joseph and Mary.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.
