Did you vote yet?
« on: October 31, 2016, 03:44:28 pm »
I voted Friday.  Took about 40 minutes for the whole thing from waiting in line.   I prefer to early vote.  I won't get off from work until 11pm on the 8th so it would be too late.

I haven't voted yet and will probably not. My state is a solid democrat, and my vote wouldn't matter too much in the electoral college system no matter which party I pick (if we are in a popular vote system then I would vote). In the primary election I use a mail in ballot for voting. I can't deal with waiting in line or the voting machines. Usually for mail in ballots we have to send the mail ballot to the county clerk 7 days before the election.

I planned on submitting my absentee vote, but I submitted it rather late. So unfortunately, I was unable to vote this year. :-( It bums me out, especially since I am more 'invested' in this particular election than previous ones.

It's not voting time in my state.  Come election day I will be early to vote before going to work.

I haven't voted yet, but will be at my local polling place bright-eyed and bushy-tailed the morning of November 8. The only race in my town that it is absolutely pointless to vote in is for town Mayor and Council. Republicans are the only ones running in that race (no Democrats are ever even put up for those races) so all the cadidates have to do is vote for themselves and they win.

I have my ballot and could vote any time, but I would rather wait in case any more information surfaces. When the time comes, we just fill out the ballot at home and drop it in a steel box outside the library.

I haven't missed an election since the one before my 18th birthday.  I did vote by absentee ballot for a few years during the 90's, but aside from that, I prefer to vote in person ON election day at my designated polling place.  Standing in line with other people and usually seeing a few familiar faces in the process just feels 'more right' to me.  My current situation is perfect for me.  I walk my daughter to school about 1/2 mile from our house.  Her school is two blocks away from our polling place.  Then I walk the 1/2 mile back home to finish getting myself ready for work.  I will probably get ready early on Tuesday before she goes to school just in case the voting lines are long.

Anyone who is not voting because they think the Presidential race is already determined or because their region is straight D or R and you feel your vote doesn't matter = there are STILL many other races and issues on the ballots OTHER than President!  Election Day does not only occur every FOUR years!  Get out there and BE HEARD! (But please educate yourself before you do)
