Gas shortage
« on: September 17, 2016, 06:30:10 am »
There are a  lot of gas station here in town that are out of gas.  I found one station this morning and got to fill up.  This will get be to work for about 3 or 4 weeks.  Hopefully they will have the pipe line fixed before then.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :o

Sorry to hear you are affected by the pipeline incident.  Hope all is back to normal soon.  I am glad you were able to find gasoline to fill up today.  Seems like it is always something sometimes.

I had not heard of any gas shortages.  Plenty of gas where I live.  Far as I know any way.

EJHOLT - Apparently there is a gas shortage. lol.  I had no idea until I went to the station to get gas and they didn't have any.  They had the high gas but nothing else but were selling it for the medium price.  I am assuming this is something that has just happened?

Oh my...! Hope you have enough gas soon! The last time my area had a gas shortage was in 2012 when we got hit with Hurricane Sandy! That was a horrible time!

So far no gas shortage here but I have seen the prices go up at some of the stations.  I use the Gasbuddy App on my cell phone all the time to find the cheapest and the prices right now are ranging from 2.05 to 2.35 within my area.  Glad the 2.05 is only a few blocks away.

They are saying there is no gas shortage in MY state.  But the gas stations have bags over all their pumps.  They do have premium at a couple stations.  And the price has went way up.  I think that is called gouging and is illegal.
But what can you do?  They are saying wait until you are completely empty to fill back up.  Uh no.  If I do that and there is NO gas then I have nothing.  I will likely fill up around 3/4 of a tank.  I have to be able to get to work.  They are talking like the leak in the gas line will be fixed next week.  But if that is true then why is there such panic?

That's why the fuel prices have been going up the past couple of weeks.

I am in Ohio and we have no shortage here that I am aware of. I have a friend who lives in Georgia who spent his day yesterday trying to find a station with gas. I haven't heard if he found any. He had been to 5 stations that were out when I talked to him last. Such a shame. Now, they will start price gouging with what is left.
