Dancer139 you are the idiot, just because you believe in one thing and him another.  He have rights just like you.  No one say any thing when children are told not to said the pledge of alliance to the flag, what the difference???   Flag..National Anthem it's all the same, but because he chose not to sing or stand to a song that means nothing to him and people of color you call him an idiot..come on.

The sad thing is, in the NBA they'll fine or suspend you for not respecting the national anthem. The NFL is so PC word is the Cheerleaders will be wearing Burkas next year.

He is starting conversations, which was the whole point of his protest.  He was also doing the protesting for  several games before the media got a hold of it.  If you want to make a point where better.  I don't agree with his methods, but he has every right to do it.  We are talking about him which is what he wanted, so some people will actually look into what he is protesting, so he has succeeded in furthering his point.

He really hasn't succeeded at anything. The conversations have been about standing for flag, not what he is protesting. It's also not like the issues he was protesting weren't getting any attention before this protest. Now, the media has essentially moved on.

Yeah the NBA is way ahead of them all.....the players can just go out and rape someone and settle a civil suit!

Just another sign of the "last days"how crazy this world would become.

I find it disrespectful.  There are a lot of other ways he could do things to help out the so called injustice of the colored, but not disrespecting our country. I say put his money  where his mouth is and do something helpful. White people adopted  him and he is not showing  kindness to them. This is a  football player who could be out  helping and encourging the people to do better,  but he is not. I won't watch a football game if he or any other players are not respecting our country.

How do any of you know he hasnt donated to the poor?Or what kind of person he is?Not that i know but all this based on NOT bowing to an idol!!

Ill bet some of you worshipped Bill Cosby and i am sure he would stand for the NA!!!The piece of garbage it looks like he is!!

The parable in the bible at Luke Chaptor 10 is of Jesus giving a parable about a Good Samaritan.Prejudice and nationalism isnt required for it to reach the heart!

BTW I am a Bears fan!!

Everyone in this country has a right to do and say what they want however you need to be ready to accept the consequences of your actions. He is allegedly taking a stand (no pun intended) for something he believes in. Either that or he needed some more attention via the media which he is getting.

Standing respectfully for the National Anthem isn't "Bowing before idols". It shows respect for the country. I hope you're never in front of a judge and need to explain to him how you won't rise when he comes in, because you'd be bowing to idols!

Satan told Jesus for an act of worship i will give you all these kingdoms <earthly>......all flags represent world. My kingdom is no part of this world said Jesus.Jesus never disputed they belonged to Satan.

The father must be worshipped with spirit and truth said.A judge must represent righteousness and truth. You would bbe standing before Jehovah. If the judges laws compromise Gods truths with no disrespect as the apostles did we must obey God as ruler.

The world did not give us life.Jehovah is only source of that and that is why there should be no other gods before him.

Over the past few weeks a handful of NFL players have refused to stand during the playing of America’s national anthem. Fans have been outraged that the NFL sits idly by while its employees disrespect this great nation.  :'(

Some proponents of this protest by players have cited the First Amendment as a justification for these actions. While the First Amendment prevents government from abridging freedom of speech, it does not prevent the NFL from having a code of conduct that requires its employees to stand at attention during the playing of the national anthem.  :star:

The National Football League has many standards when it comes to player conduct. Players are only allowed to wear gear during interviews and games that are authorized by the NFL. Violation of the gear standards can bring hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. Eonline.com provided what they called 14 "ridiculous" examples of players being fined for violating NFL policy.

Congress has established standards for participation in the National Anthem. The NFL has fostered an environment that allows blatant disrespect for our anthem, flag and nation. 36 U.S. Code 301 says, "all other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart..."

How embarrassing will it be if dozens of professional athletes begin to sit on the bench while the national anthem is performed? Imagine the disrespect for America that will follow if the NFL continues to allow this.  >:(

Take Action

Urge the NFL to respect 36 U.S. Code 301 and fine each player that refuses to stand during the national anthem.
