Gaining weight is hard for me since my metabolism is pretty high. Sometimes I think I got a good metabolism and then when it stops or slows down I will become overweight. The only concern is my cholesterol, which I got better from the cardio bike.

I'm trying to bulk up so I can turn it to muscle mass.. Having toothpick arms is unsightly and recently I am showing good results with all the weight lifting

No.  I only could dream of such pain :)
I would think you could just eat ice-cream & drink shakes and the weight would just come on.  Not  healthy way to gain, but a delicious one.
I am sorry to laugh, I know it is a real problem, I just wish I could have for a while.  It is funny but to gain or to lose weight you need to eat several small meals a day, just different caloric intake.

Everyone talks about the struggle of losing weight but for some of us the struggle is gaining weight.  I've been thin all my life.  Even as I get older they say your metabolism is supposed to slow down well I'm still waiting and it hasn't happened yet.  Anyone else feel my pain?

Can I have your metabolism? I'd gladly trade.  :)

I was 135 lb. from high school and all my adult life until I turned 50. Then I gained 15 lb. due to my disability.  In the last 2 weeks alone, I gained another 2 lb. (I hope the doc's scale was off on that one!)

Growing up I was quite small. Enough so that my mother worried about my growth and kept worrying as I became a teenager. I graduated high school at about 98 lbs. The most I've weighed in my adult life was 135. Now at 41, metabolism slowed, stress eating has become a real thing and I weigh 170. I'm 5'10" so I'm not over weight imo, but would like to lose the small gut that I have somehow gotten during the past year. So to some extent I've been on both sides of the scale. Wanting to gain weight but wanting lean muscle rather than just pounds and now wanting to lose some fat but gain some muscle. Some are just born with the inability to look the way they would like. A lot of it is genetics and putting forth the effort. No matter how you want to lean on the scale towards more or lower, the real goal should be to reach a healthy status then worry about the physical asthetics. My personal focus is on cardio. I think this will help lose weight in the problem areas and then I can focus on strength training in addition to the cardio.

Sometimes I wish I could "feel your pain".  Sadly my pain is just the opposite especially now that I've gotten "older" - it's become twice as hard to lose even 5 lbs.!!

Had that problem when I had my kids and I was breastfeeding them... was loosing way too much (scary!)

Are you eating correctly? Try to eat enough red meat, past, bread... and potatoes!

But as long as you are healthy, don't worry too much about it!

Yeah, it seems like a misconception is that skinny people can eat whatever, whenever they want but I know that sometimes they have different issues to deal with.

My very skinny friend is able to eat a lot an not gain weight; however, she has migraines that I'd never want to deal with.

I have extra weight but, for the most part - I am fairly healthy.
Have a great day!
