Sometimes you may have better luck with loan from a credit union, worth giving it a try. It's a shame they say reduce debt then punish you for it! also maybe if you have credit cards make small purchases that you can pay off balance each month and at least their is some ongoing credit being reported to the bureaus, they know you have some active accounts. If you have the cash, might be better to just use that and forget the financing.

With the way credit is determined makes no sense.  You have to owe someone in order to have good credit.  An Oxymoron.

Never had that problem.. I had my first credit card for 1 and a half year and my credit score is exceptional.. Used $200-$500 credit line a month (due to buying collection stuff from ebay and electronics from Amazon) and always payed before the payment date
