When was the last time you were on a diet and lose weight. How much did you lose and what diet did you try?

I find dieting doesn't really work. Not short term dieting anyway. Changing the way you eat overall, everyday helps. For me cutting back on the sugar helps a lot since I have bad sweet tooth.

For health reasons, I changed my diet completely. Now I feel better...much better by avoiding all the junk food in this world.

I'm just watching my portion size and using a lot less sugar.

I'm trying to slim down now. My goal is to lose 2-3 pounds a week. I cut out calories by leaving sodas, alcohol and sweets alone. I'm good so far because I'm losing about 8 pounds a month. I have a few more pounds to lose, so I'm gonna keep this up for a while and when I meet my goal weight, I;m going to focus on eating in moderation. I'm preparing my body for the change now and trying to find lots of healthy recipes.

My girlfriend is on a diet. I hope she does very well with it. It is truly something she really wants.

Last spring I lost 25 pounds. No specific diet. I just watched my calorie intake and increase my daily walking.

It was not a diet, but I watched what I ate and exercised more and I lost 50 pounds.  All I did was to eat healthy food and walked every day

I find dieting really difficult, primarily because I love food too much and have difficulty controlling my portions. I have successfully lost weight and reached my goals, only to put it all back on, and more, and be back to square one. What is really odd is that I have a twin sister who has never had a problem with her weight. She is able to eat an average sized portion of food and then her "automatic shut-off" valve kicks in and she refuses any more food. I on the other hand will continue to eat way passed my fill-line until I start to feel quite ill. She says she would love to eat more, but doesn't, I would love to eat more and clearly don't know when to stop!

Dieting is almost impossible for me because food is not something I want to compromise. However small changes are that hard but no weight lose through that.
