Where's The Meat McDonalds?
« on: June 20, 2016, 10:05:29 am »
Does anyone remember the commercial for Wendy's back in the day, where's the beef? I really thought about that
ad over the weekend. On Saturday my Daughter wanted to go to McDonald's for a happy meal. My husband and I also ordered food inside the fast food restaurant. I ordered a cheese burger, it looked like someone put extra ketchup on it, so I looked under the top bun and to our utter amazement, they forgot to put the hamburger inside!!! It is a very good thing we did not use the drive thru that day. I'm not sure if it was an honest mistake or a prank because there was so much ketchup inside. The manager said there where new hires in the kitchen. Has this ever happened to you?

So sorry to hear about your experience. I hope it was just an honest mistake and wasn't deliberate. I have not been to a McDees in a long time since they over salted everything it is too salty for my taste. Fries and burgers. Hope they corrected your order and give it for free.

Being summer I bet they hired some teenagers who have never worked before. Sounds like a honest mistake.

I can't recall never getting the meat but I have gotten burgers from there that had been under the heat lamp so long they were crunchy around the edge of the bun.  And they never get it right it you ask for something to be different on it.  Oh well so goes the golden arches.

Not long ago I saw a YouTube video of an extremely irate customer at a McDonalds who ordered a Big Mac and they only gave him one instead of two all beef patties.  Like I said, he was mad as hell and extremely foul with his language.  He walked away a few times only to come back and dish out more F bombs, etc. even after they made it right.  Wow!

Sometimes, I forget to put the meat on my burger, if I'm making it at home.  My bun gets piled high with lettuce and tomato and pickles, then I don't realize I've left off the meat until I take a bite.  However, I wouldn't expect that to happen at a place like McDonalds!

Sounds like just a mistake to me. The manager should not have given a lame excuse for it. He should have apologized and made it right for you; possibly including a free hamburger.  :highfive:

Have you ever been a burger slinger?  I'm surprised at all the negative comments about McDonald's on FC.  :sad1: They're quite successful, you know, and have been around for a long, long time.

I once got a paper thin slice of meat shaped like the state of Illinois at Steak 'n Shake. It was less meat than a person would ingest with one bite. I took it up to the counter and asked if they were kidding with it, and they just acted like nothing was out of the ordinary. I thought I'd at least get a laugh or an apology out of it.  :-X I didn't go back for a while, but then I decided it wasn't really worth boycotting them.

The last time i ever ate at a McDonald's was when my grandson was 6, and that was because he and his friend wanted to play  in the play area. The boys were no more interested in eating. But did manage to get some food in them. Myself  i had a salad. No way will i ever eat their meat again, It is not even bought in the United states, and has way too much ceral in it. And the dressing is yucky.  I will get an iced moca from them once in a while.

Never had a missing meat, but the burgers were made in a rush.  That's why they call it fast food made messy.

You say you last McD's visit is when your grandson was 6, but you don't say how old your grandson is now.   ;)   Just trying to figure out how long ago it actually was since you have been there. LOL.

I had an occasion a few years ago when  my son wanted a double cheesebuger, or a mcdouble I can't remember. I always check his food before he eats it and when I looked closely, I noticed he only had one burger. I was peeved that they missed his second burger, particularly because they had missed one just a few days before, but whilst deciding what I should do about it, I noticed that the one burger he did have was sliced into two! Was this supposed to be his second burger? I mean, his one burger was literally put through the meat slicer to make it look like two patties. I know this because the insides of the two sides were slightly less brown than the outside of the burger. My husband took the burger pack and gave them some of his thoughts on the matter!! Cutbacks??
