How early?

Temperatures are going to be in the 90s.
My lawn needs mowed.

How early in the morning can I start mowiing? I want to respect my neighbors sleeping.

What time would YOU start the lawn mower in the morning?

If you ask me, 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. are way too early to start mowing the lawn. If there's no light in the sky or not much light in the sky it's too early to start mowing. I'd say 9-10 a.m. is a reasonable time to start mowing the lawn. It may be a little hotter, but you're a lot less likely to earn the ire of your neighbors.

I agree, 7 or 8 in the morning is a little too early to mow.  You might wake some neighbors and start problems with them.  9 is a good time.

We have a noise ordinance and not suppose to start before 8 am and no loud noise after 11 pm.  Some neighbors have cut their yard around 7:30a but noone has complained.  Once my son was skatboarding in the street at 11:05 cops showed up after someone complained, so I guess it depends on your city.

I think it also depends on the day of the week. During the week most kids are getting up for school and most adults for work so you could probably start earlier (8:30). Depending on your neighbors I would say 9:30-10 on the weekend.

Yeah, it really depends on the neighborhood/day of the week. If people around you are quiet, probably best to wait a little while. If people are up and moving, could probably get away with being out a little earlier...

My momma always taught me to never call anyone before 9am or after 8pm. I would use those perimeters for mowing.

I mowed my grass this morning a little past 8:00 a.m. Sometimes I mow as late as 8:00 p.m. No one ever says anything to me about it.

I don't really think it's anyone else's business what time I mow. I don't see it as a great imposition to others. 

If it concerns you, perhaps you should ask your neighbors what time is good for them so as not to destroy their peace and quiet, or to incur their wrath.

My husband starts around 10 because it get hot quick down here in the South

I agree with those that said check your local ordinances. If you're out of compliance, you can get cited if someone complains. I would say that 8am or 9am sounds about the average time to start, but do check so you don't get in hot water.

I would ask my neighbors what time would be a good time  to mow the lawn. Here in our neighborhood everyone are early risers so we can mow about 6 a.m.. except hubby is not up then. I am. But he mows not me.

Well, I have a "reel" lawnmower that makes no noise, so mow around 6 pm. It's really handy, needs no gas/batteries or chains to pull.
