Muhammad Ali - Born Cassius Clay in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1942, Muhammad Ali became an Olympic gold medalist in 1960 and the world heavyweight boxing champion in 1964. Following his suspension for refusing military service, Ali reclaimed the heavyweight title two more times during the 1970s, winning famed bouts against Joe Frazier and George Foreman along the way. Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1984, Ali devoted much of his time to philanthropy, earning the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2005. He died on June 3, 2016, in Phoenix, Arizona.

He will be surly missed forever to be in our hearts! To help say thank you to him follow the link below to his twitter page and share your feels there too.

I watched Muhammad Ali’s funeral and I think out of all those that spoke and shared their stories the one that showed his true character was the story his friend John Ramsey told.  He went on trip back in 2000 to the summer Olympics with Ali.  After having ringside seats to the boxing match and taking pics with the winner, Ali told Ramsey he wanted to see the looser.  They went into the looser’s locker room and the loosing boxer was alone feeling the lowest of the low.  He instantly recognized Ali and after trading a few ‘jabs’ Ali was able to bring his spirits higher than they had been.  To me that speaks volumes.  To think of looser.  To realize where he would be needed and went there to help.  That defines Ali.

Lonnie, Maryum, and Rashida Ali were three of the strongest women I had ever seen and that speaks volumes of the type of person Muhammad really was.  Honestly, if that were me and I just lost my father or husband, I’d be balling.  There was certainly no way I could have given a eulogy.

I watched the Muhammad Ali funeral on tv and have to give it up to Billy Crystal.  Only he could have added the touch of humor which would have seen out of place at a funeral but not for him.  His ‘we’re half way over’ and ‘I was clean-shaven when we started’ set the tone just right for the humor that Muhammad carried all his life.

I honestly was stupid.  Before watching his funeral I thought, geeze, all these people and he was just a boxer.  Ok, heavy-weight three time champ but he was a boxer.  It’s like America’s that shallow that we honor our celebrates more than people who really deserve it like Nelson Mandela.  It was so good to hear that Muhammad not only remained humble throughout his life but that he used his fame to help all those in need from around the world—and not in a cheap shot sort of way like the famous people of today do.  I was so glad to be wrong and know that he truly was a great man and it was good to see the entire world honor him the way he really did deserve.

I keep thinking, ‘Trump wants to deny Muslims into the country.  Well, Muhammad was Muslim.  I know there will never be another Ali but if we deny all of them into our country then we will deny ourselves the privilege of someone like Ali.’ That to me is just wrong.

Sorry to say i remember  Muhammad ale in a differ way, he was a draft dodger and was very nasty about the men and women who served in Naim and called them all sorts of names. They were just doing their job.the government said you go and they went. I know damn good and well my brother was not a baby killer nor the rest of my family that served. But when they came back home to the name calling and stuff. I lost respect for him a long time ago.

He definitely spoke his mind especially at a time where it wasn't so kosher to do so.

A true legend. May he rest in peace and forever be remembered as one of the greatest of all times in the boxing arena. I still remember reading about the story when he saw his daughter was wearing something immodest. You find diamonds deep inside the soil hard to find. True story!
