What Production Logos Scared You?
« on: May 30, 2016, 08:19:55 pm »
I remember finding a scare factor in many production logos when I was young. I found the Starry Night Productions logo scary without a doubt. I also remember DIC logos would startle me as well. The production logo that scared me the most was the Viacom V of Doom. I had nightmares about that logo that could've woken me!

The production logos that scared me were horror films.

I remember having nightmares about Ronald McDonald when I was a child, which is weird because I'm not afraid of clowns, I just didn't like him.

When I was a kid, I didn't like the little red devil on the can of deviled spam...I was so perplexed, especially being a christian child at the time, lol...

How is Ronald McDonald a production logo? This is supposed to be a discussion about production logos that anybody would've found scary and therefore have had nightmares about, not just whatever or whoever he or she has seen on TV that made him or her have a nightmare.

I asked what PRODUCTION LOGOS scared you, not what fictional characters scared you.

Cbsteffen, you might want to explain it a little bit more in your original post.  I wasn't 100% certain what you meant just simply by the phrase "production logos" until I looked it up elsewhere.  Understanding that Ronald McDonald and the spam devil aren't "production" logos, they are still company logos that people found scary or unusual.  Some of that is easy to lose in the translation or misunderstanding of what you were asking.

That said, I don't know that I ever found any of them scary necessarily, but it is an interesting topic for discussion.

Thank you, UGetPaid...I was confused as well. I thought he/she meant ANY product(ion) logo including products and services, LOL.... To answer the question... I guess I don't have any then.

I can't say I've ever had that problem.  Makes me wonder what classification of phobia that might fall under.  Of course, the "urban dictionary's" got a word for it:  Telelogophobia.

I don't think this quite counts as a production logo, but I used to get creeped out by the frozen smiling Burger King king in the commercials, too unsettling. As far as logos go though, no, none of those have ever scared me at all. I do find some of those fascinating and creative though.
