Do You Have Pet Peeves?
« on: May 01, 2016, 12:30:32 pm »
I was just reminded of a pet peeve of mine.  Scared me good.  I was driving at night in an area that is not well lit but still somewhat of a major highway and what do I come upon before any sign of them?  Two people walking along the side of the right lane in dark clothing with nothing light colored whatsoever to give a driver a heads up that they are there.  Luckily, I do not ride that side of the lane.

This is not the first, or even second time, this has happened.  Do these people realize that they are in grave danger?  Also, how would you feel if you hit someone?  And no, there was no sign that their car had broken down.  Just out there walking like they were in the mall!

My biggest pet peeve is when someone argues with me about being rude. I do not tolerate anyone's saying to me, "That's not rude," after that person said or did something to me that didn't sound or feel like respect to me. When someone doesn't believe he or she was being rude to me although I found what he or she said or did to me was rude, I see that as not caring about my personality.

I do have a pet peeve. My kids are 12 and 9, and I have taught them to thank someone if a door is held open for them. You can imagine my annoyance if my kids hold the door open for someone, and that person doesn't thank them - particularly when that person is an adult and old enough to know better. My kids don't want anything apart from confirmation that they are living in a civilized world where we all know how to respect each other.

When you hold a door for someone and they walk by you without saying anything...the remedy is to say "You are welcome"to them.......they usually wish they had said thank you then.

one of my many pet peeves is being introduced to someone and they don't give there last name. I understand that it depends where the introduction takes place but if you are going to working with them or seeing them on a regular basis it would be nice to know the last name. :rose: :rainbow: :peace:

When someone butts in line.  Drives me nuts, go to the end just like everyone else

Was just out doing some errands and was reminded of another pet peeve of mine.  How about two cars driving side by side at the same speed?  No, not for a minute or two and then someone waking up and realizing they need to go a bit faster.  Yes, driving side by side for over four miles and only ended when one of them had to turn.  Hey, if that's you, wake up and realize there are other people on the road.  You AIN'T the only one!  I think many of you will know what I mean by how frustrating and rude this is.

No they don't.  Some people are just jerks.  Just know you done right by holding the door and let it go.  People are crazy.  Is it really worth getting shot just to prove they are a jerk?

Countrygirl...good point.Same as road rage.Look at the recent NFL player killed in Road rage.

I think we react sometimes if we are courteous and someone is rude. But these times are dangerous and again you are right...its not worth losing your life over!!

Love this scripture...an answer when mild turns away rage.

I have many Pet Peeves. The most annoying one is: "Nasty people... doing nasty things!"
