Intoxicated Boss
« on: April 27, 2016, 11:20:56 pm »
My boss had a meeting with his boss and some outside company reps and then went out to lunch where they undoubtedly served alcohol.  When he came back at the end of the day he was staggering and had slurred speech.  Even though he wasn't actually working he was on the premises intoxicated and then was driving home too :o  Now if anyone else was in this condition noticeable to him what do you think would happen and what should be done to him?  Well at the place I work at I am a temp. and everyone I work with is an anarchist headed by this stupid boss who doesn't care how anything gets done as long as it is done by 5pm.  I have never in my life worked in a place where everyone and I mean everyone does whatever they want with no real consequences or discipline!  It is sickening and what makes it worse is that most of these people are over 50 :o :o :o  Wouldn't it be nice if you could go to work and do whatever you want?

We live in a fallen world.  And when the person that has the power to fire you it certainly can make it hard to do the right thing.  I mean after all there is a lot at risk.  I would have made an anonymous  call to the police.  This man being on the road is putting others at risk.  What a shame.  :angry7:

I agree and if you can start looking for something else, is not good.  But if he becomes aggressive then just call the police, nobody should have to suffer for that and if the boss is like makes you wonder about the employees in general

Well, if he was with his boss and it was ok, I don't think you have anything to concerning there.  If he was drinking at work all  day long that be an entirely different thing there.

well, you have to get along with the boss.  So if his boss was telling him to drink to what are you suppose to do?
the better you get along with the bosss the better chance you have of keeping your job doesnt seem to matter if you do a good job anymore.

I worked with a young man who was  my boss.  And you could always tell when he got back from lunch that he had been smoking    weed. He would come bouncing in like a  kid and i could smell it on him. After a few months i got tired of his antics. And since i was an  assistant manager i went to the main boss and told him we needed a mandatory drug check. He did and the young man was  called in and was put on probation.  Well he slipped up again and we had another drug test allof a sudden.  He was transferred to another store so i don't know what happened to him after that. All i do know it was his last chance.

I would probably die laughing if I ever saw my boss intoxicated!  That is one thing that will never happen!

I'm not sure what I would do in this situation. I guess it would depend on if this person was my friend or not.
