It only goes downhill from there!  Pretty soon he will be discovering sports and girls! My son works one or two shifts a week which didn't come close to paying for Prom at both schools. We prefer that he focus on school and sports so we picked up the bill for that. He plays lacrosse during the high school season and that runs about eight hundred dollars. He is on one tournament team that runs twenty three hundred, another tournament team that is only one thousand but the trips and lodging are not included (Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Chicago and New York). His cleats are getting worn (one hundred and forty dollars) and he will need another stick soon (two hundred and twenty five dollars). He has three colleges looking at him for a scholarship but they all require him to fly out to their location in Fall-Wisconsin, Florida and New York. Hopefully one of them will make an offer...will pay us back for the upfront investment! Good luck with your ten year old-hug him tight...they grow up so fast!

I dont have kids but Id be more happy to have them inside playing on the computer or their tablets. The world is not like it used to be. Too many people wanting to do harm to others

Id be a helicopter mom I think lol

My son just turned 10. Your lucky your son asked for a tablet. My son wanted a phone. Maybe when he turns 12 I will get him one, but the only time he is not close by me is when he is in school. I don't think he needs one right now. The childhood years are so much more shorter compared to adult years.

What is this mess?  How about you and him watch some educational TV and play some educational games? Whenever you post anything on here it looks like a 10 year old wrote it.  How does it not enter your thought process to proofread what you have written before you post it or have someone with some kind of grasp of the English language do it for you?  Once again it indicates the level of effort you are not willing to put into anything which is also called laziness.  Have a blessed day.  :peace: 8)

Wait till he gets bigger.  I have a 23 year old that when she was 16 for Christmas comes to me and say "MOM, I tough really hard and I ONLY want 2 things for Xmas:  an android phone AND a Mustang".  LOL she did not get the android until graduation from HS next year and I did buy her a Toy Mustang.  But really ONLY! very expensive taste.

Wow.  Kids today have a sense of entitlement.  Many learned that from never having to earn anything.
