Have you been to Mall of America? Did you enjoy all of the entertainment they have to offer? What did you eat?

I have not been to Mall of America but that is one of the places on my bucket list.  Would it be worth planning a vacation around?

Since I live on the west coast, I prefer http://granvilleisland.com/public-market

It's more outdoors and the whole city is a delight to visit.

Unfortuantely I haven't heard of this mall. I'm assuming it's on the west coast.

I lived in Minneapolis for years and can say there are more interesting places than that mall! It is neat, but i don't think it is vacation worthy unless you were already there for some other reason, then you might check it out.

I have never been there.  I have heard of it, but can't honestly remember where it is.  There are a lot of places I would like to go in this country, but that doesn't make my list.

I guess I see a mall mainly as a place to spend money and that's not fun in and of itself.

We were just there yesterday. My GF's daughter just turned 7, so we took her up there to first have breakfast at the IHOP right across the street (S. side of the mall), and then took her to Build-a-Bear in the mall. When we got there, we were surprised to find out that the Children's Museum of MN was putting on an acrobatic workshop on one of the stages... Every half hour they had a demonstration (we watched the standing bar) and then they invited the kids to come up and try out different things like walking on stilts, hoolahoop, jump rope, and tumbling mats. Our little b-day girl got to try out the stilts.

But I would have to agree with sgluckadoo that there are more interesting places to visit in MN than just MOA. Unless you really enjoy shopping or live close enough to make it a day trip, I wouldn't plan a vacation centered around going there. Rather, make it into something like a fishing trip and take a day from fishing to visit the mall.

i'm not a real shopper so it doesn't sound hat appealing but if there are other venues there it might be interesting to stop by. however I live on the east coast. don't think that is a possibility any time soon. :rose: :rainbow: :peace:

MOA does have more to it than just the shops, so even if shopping isn't you're "thing", you can still go visit other things there... For example, in the middle of the mall is an enclosed amusement park -- Nickelodeon Universe -- and in the basement is Sea Life aquarium. Additionally there are several stage / open areas on the ground floor that often has different things going on, from book signings to actual shows. Also, many of the stores use MOA to showcase their business by making it more than just a shopping experience: the LEGO store has tables with loose pieces that kids can use to make their own creations, Crayola will be opening a store this year where you can roll your own crayon, a sporting goods store (can't remember the name, nor whether they are still there) that had a virtual golf course and ski hill, etc. And on the top floor are several different night clubs, like a comedy club, sports bar, and dance club. So even if you don't really like shopping, there are still things to do at the mall that are fun and interesting. It's just that you wouldn't want to center a trip around just visiting MOA, esp. if you don't care to shop there.
