1 more tv question, sorry
« on: April 09, 2016, 08:22:16 am »
Sorry, but I have 1 more question about tvs   Should I get a regular or curved?  Does anyone have curved and what do you think is better?  I read tons of reviews and some say if you are not directly in front curved is no good.  Others say curved is the best, almost like 3D without having 3D.

I really like the flat screens personally. I feel like I can see better with them. We just got another one for our living room and it's pretty great.

I enjoy the flat screen.  I have a smart tv but don't care for it that much.

Have not seen the curved TVs in a "home"  setting to answer intelligently.  We have flat TVs in our house and they seem to be fine for us.

Well that makes a lot of sense.  I would not get a curved tv ever.

I guess one day I will buy a curved tv, when the prices have come down and they have been tried and tested by consumers. I currently have a large Samsung 52 inch flat screen in my living room and I have been gloriously happy with it since the day I bought it. We also have 3 semi-large flat screens in the kids bedrooms - the price was so great when we bought them we really couldn't afford to pass them up! However back to your question. If my tv broke today, I would go out and buy the exact same one I have now - a flat screen.

I would stick with the flat screen for now, I have seen the curved ones in the store and the picture is amazing but the cost is also pretty amazing. To me it is just not worth it until I know they have been around long enough to know they are going to last without issues and the costs come down to a reasonable price.

I love the look of the curved but just have the regular.  the curved are still a bit too expensive for me.  but you can always go to best buy and check them out in person to see what you like best

I just bought another 19" flat screen to use as a monitor for my wife's computer, with a side benefit of watching TV on it.

But what happens when she/you want to watch TV while on the computer?  ;)

We just remodeled a room in our house to make it an office.  Before that, my wife had a desktop and a large printer in our bedroom and we had a few laptops with no real home base and a second printer in the "spare room" and a large filing cabinet in the front hallway.  Now those are all consolidated with a couple of desks in the old spare room.  I have a 21 inch flat screen TV on the desk with my laptop and an HDMI cable to connect my laptop to its display, but I usually find that I want to have the TV on in addition to the laptop!

I have three computers in my room, the one with the TV has dual monitors to cover that problem.
