Florida goes off the Federal Minimum wage, so its $7.25/hr.  When I lived in CT it was 8.15 and scheduled to go up to 10-something in the next year or 2

I think the minimum wage is too low in NY, considering the taxes.

The current minimum wage is too low in my state, but $15/hr is laughable. The price of everything will increase so much to the point there will be massive lay-offs and in the end that $15/hr will be worth more like $8/hr. I am for having different minimum wages for high schoolers and graduates though. I didn't make sh*t in high school.

I live in New Jersey and I say No. I think all state minimum wages should be 15 dollars an hours or more simple because everything in live is not getting cheaper it's more and more experience everything is going up. With 15 dollars an hour I'll be able to make a living.

It varies by job. I was a telemarketer at several different companies. They have different amounts to start out.

But at $15/hr, everything you need to buy will jump in price as well &/or you will be downsized out of your minimum wage job.

$7.25 in Oklahoma, and in 2014 Governor Fallin signed a minimum wage hike ban that states that cities and towns cannot independently raise the minimum wage locally.

Florida minimum wage is $8.05.  I live close to the Florida/Alabama border and I know a lot of people that travel into Florida to work because the wage is higher

How close are you to the border?  I'm just wondering hypothetically how far of a commute is still worth the higher minimum wage pay.  Obviously right on the border or within 5-10 miles is a no brainer.  But 20+ miles one way might not be as good of a deal.  How much less is the min wage in AL per hour?

Alabama goes by the federal minimum wage so an extra 80 cents a hour can add up. If you live on the outskirts of town you're right at a part of the border . Other parts are closer to 40 miles but there are smaller towns in between my city and the state line. It's close enough that people travel across the borders on a regular basis to shop and to see concerts. So commuting for a higher paid job isn't that weird. It's not like it's crazy traffic of a large city.

It's just been raised to $11.00 in Massachusetts, though I doubt many employers pay that.

Here in Nevada minimum wage is 8.25 but I think it should be at least 10 in all 50 states.  I really hope some states will wake up and raise it.  No one can live on 8.25 dollars on hour especially with kids or if only one person in the house works.
