I used to work two different hotels, it's always best to shop around. Try travel websites, then call the hotel itself and see if they can beat any rates that you find. It's possible that you'll get the same rate and then get upgraded to a suite. Always call around.

I prefer the Wyndham and the Marriott hotels. I have a rewards memberhip with both and find they are the most pleasurable to stay at.

Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn prefer one with a breakfast and interior rooms (Not near the elevator).

I try to stay on the Days Inn there not that expensive than the ones you stay in .

I book all my hotel rooms through hotel.com. I usually go with the price and the best reviews when I book a hotel room.
