what are the lengths that you have, or would go to to get an active referral?

There isn't a lot you can do but ask people or send the link.  I have one referral and she just started.  I had a friend I use to work with tell me I needed to offer to pay people to help me get referrals. lol.  Uh no.

I don't know if I'll ever get to refer anyone. I know you will get some reward from it but the hardest part is keeping them active. Has anyone has any success with that besides Oldbuddy?

Sounds like we're all in the same boat! I agree with tgreen20 and dansazz, you have to get the word out and think outside the box. I've even tried printing out a sheet saying "free ways to earn online" and put my referral links under that which I posted in the local food store. Either people aren't interested, too skeptical to try or signed up on the sites without using my link (that's gratitude for ya! lol). I also use traffic exchanges, have posted on craigslist and tweeted my brains out with VERY little luck. I had one referral once who was so clueless, I couldn't believe it. I emailed him and listed all the ways he could earn more but to no avail. I even referenced the member chatbox so he'd see I wasn't just blowing smoke and that had no effect. Good help is so hard to find these days (sigh). Keep a stiff upper lip gang, perhaps our luck will change for the better!

My daughter and I use to put my business card with my ref links on it in newspapers and mailboxes.  I find it better to recruit online, but even after signing up some people just don't make much effort  :confused1:

There is no thinking out of the box.  You cannot make people join these sites.  I have told several people.  Even placed my link different places online.  I hate when people tell me how easy it is and how I just need to think out of the box.  It is not that easy.

I just joined last July and today I got referral #131.  Only one of those referrals was by word of mouth (my mother) and she is the only one that I KNOW is regularly active and has cashed out three times so far herself.  The rest have been online referrals from my blog/website.  I like to hope that they are active, but I've yet to get any $5 cash out bonuses from any of them.

It is not "easy" to get active referrals, but if you stick with it you'll be surprised what you can achieve.

I don't have much luck keeping them active either, I just keep getting more. I have some who cashout every few months, but with 800 total referrals I still average 2 or 3 a month. You just need to keep trying until you get enough to have confidence. Leave the bait all over and wait until they take it. Remember, to get where I am took almost 10 years.

I've only gotten a couple referrals. None of which have ever cashed out. :(

Google JediJohnnie and May the Force be with you!

I would not go as far as to pay ppl but I do offer to help them get aquainted with the site and the best ways to make money with Clix Sense as I have been doing this for many years.

didnt say it was easy. you dont make people do anything, you just get as many people as you can, eventually some of them will do some work. i've had maybe 5 people that i refered cash out, some more then once. And have had several more then that, at least try before they gave up and quit, which also got me a bonus. there is plenty of box to think outside of, and I know people can get refs, there people with thousands. and you are right, you dont force people to do anything. refering is like any marketing, it takes great efforts for considerably smaller returns.
