to me i do not understand what people get out of watching stars act like idiots on tv i would rather watch something like a learning expericene or a movie  i like the law shows or cop shows i will not let me kids watch shows like the kardashians or the braxtons or marriage boot camp i want my kids to learn from tv not get bad ideas

I have no idea why people watch those shows and why they keep making those people richer and richer.  What have Kim, Kortney, or Khole done to deserve the amount of money they have.  The whole thing started when Kim made a sex tape!

Because the networks can put those shows on for a lot less money than traditional shows that use professionals.
And people actually watch that garbage.

I don't watch reality shows.  The networks gives the people what they want.  It's like a rip off of the Jerry Springer show and I don't watch his show either.

They make a lot of reality shows, because they are cheaper than regular shows.  They don't have to pay the "actors" SAG union negotiated wages.  They have lower production costs.  They in no way are "reality" shows...   maybe real people with their actual names, but they are heavily scripted & edited for story. 

I have a friend who was paid $50 to be on Jerry Springer... he pretended to be a character that was "real" & having "real" drama.   It's all fake. 

People just like watching drama, like soap operas, perhaps they are so bored with their own life that they need the outlet.

I like to watch reality competition shows like So You Think You Can Dance, and Dancing with the Stars. The contestants are so talented and I love to watch their interpretations of different dance styles and idea concepts. I'm not a dancer myself but I am still totally entertained by the performers. I also love to watch shows like the Bachelor. I appreciate many of the contestants just want to get on tv and have their 15 minutes of fame, and I don't care how constructed the shows are.  I don't mind if there isn't a "match" at the end of the show, I just like to be entertained by the characters in the house.
