We don't have much in the way of a great buffet here in town. But when we go see my doctor out of town we will always go to the China King. they have a great buffet with some great shell fish. Well hubby is allergic to shell fish so I get to eat some when we go. I try not to over load my plate . but I feel like I get my moneys worth even though I don't  overfill my plate because he cannot have it I don't cook it at home.

where I used to live, I used to tear up buffets. now I have one buffet and really need to stay away from it if you know what I mean. But I will go to wings places though. I am not that crazy about giving up the good food.

I have been to three of the top five buffets in the world (as ranked by a top gourmet magazine) and find that I may be getting too old to fully get my money's worth and live normally for a few days if I do eat my money's worth! My wife and I have started splitting meals because the portions are generally too large. I have found myself checking out the portion sizes as we walk past tables on the way to our table. I love to eat but am happy having two or three appetizers in place of one huge dinner plate full of food. I lead an active life but not as hungry as I used to be.This is not an effort to stay slim-I weigh two hundred and twenty pounds (six feet tall), just not as much room in the tum-tum as there used to be. Plus I hate wasting things and buffets generally have me doing that.

If the price is right, go for it. Take a tot bag and some plastic containers to take some food out. Do not let the waitress see you! Place the food on your plate and then when no one is around...do your work. You can save some money on your food bill this way.

Okay. To be clear, this is called stealing.  ::)

Getting your money's worth is relative.

Eat what you want.

Stop before you're full.

Pay what they asked you for in the first place. It's called capitalism and it works well.

Plusses to buffets are the food is good like I love going to golden corral.  A con to buffets is people tend to pig out and eat way too many calories.

I think I get my moneys worth of buffet... I at least get 2-3 full plate of food (mainly fried/rotisserie/bbq chicken, pulled pork, potatoes, and crab)... My family usually go to asian style buffets since they prefer asian style food over american food... Although I don't like Americanized and fried asian foods, I do like the sushi.. Always get a plate full of sushi if they (if they offer it)

I don't really like buffets cause I usually only get one plate. Its just too much food and I can t eat that much.

I generally eat enough to get my money's worth.  I very seldom walk away from a buffet still hungry!
Have a wonderful day!

I try to use common sense when I go to a buffet, and not overdo it. It's not worth making yourself sick to squeeze a little more out of a buffet. Most of the time, I actually prefer to avoid buffets. That way you can simply take whatever you're not ready to eat. And usually, the quality of the cuisine is higher than a buffet.

I try to get my money's worth when I go to a buffet. I usually don't eat any before I go to the restaurant, that way I can stuff my fact.

just eat until I am full.  It is not worth it to eat more and be miserable.  I also usually like to eat things that I don't make at home.
