Creatures of habit
« on: January 29, 2016, 12:47:59 pm »
I have been using a laptop for several months, and only using my desktop every so often.

I noticed today on the desktop, I keep tapping my keyboard trying to scroll, instead of using the mouse.
Tapping doesn't work on the desktop!  ;D

I have the opposite problem.  I use the pc & mouse at home (I have a laptop but prefer to use the pc) and at work now, all they have are laptops.  I keep trying to grab for the mouse.  I miss that mouse sooo much.    :(

I don't have that habit, but I have other habits that I don't want to mention.

Talking of habits, I like to sit down at my computer (desk top or laptop) with a nice cup of hot coffee to read email, do my banking etc. I have my mouse to the right of my keyboard and also my coffee (as I am right handed). My eyes are glued to the computer screen so when I feel for my mouse, I usually end up grabbing my coffee as I am not looking. I end up spilling my coffee everywhere! You'd think I'd have worked out a system by the age of 48 but apparently not. I'm equally bad at placing my coffee mug back on top of my mouse!

For 22 years I've been making a pot of coffee nearly daily...with a drip coffee pot.  Set my alarm 20 min. early so I can sleepy eyed walk to the pot; turn it on and crawl back in bed for a few minutes.  For Christmas I got a new pot..digital..with the ability to set so it kicks on in the morning.  Last night I said to my daughter as I was setting the coffee pot.  I love the extra 15 minutes of sleep I get with the coffee ready to go before my feet even touch the floor in the morning.  This morning...I woke up... got our mugs down.  Creamed and stevia'd up...went to the bathroom and then realized.  The pot was on but I didn't put water in it last night.  Soooo back to the old habit this morning.  I can't believe it only took the month of January for me to so easily fall into the convenience that little delay button.

I use a mouse with my laptop and have done so for a long time. There was a day I kept reaching for the mouse but it wasn't there because I let someone borrow it.

I think that habits are the cornerstones of making goals come to fruition. I have transitioned away from using anything but laptops but I add a keyboard, mouse and second screen to every computer I use.  My daytime project has a docking station everywhere on the campus for me to plug into. Even though I am forever working on several projects, I love letting my mind relax by posting and doing tasks on fusion cash. I have been investing every penny made on fusion cash ( and a few other sites) and have had a good deal of luck with my investments-the dividends/interest/value appreciation now exceeds my daily tasks and has for about four years. Fusion cash has taught me the habit of continuing to make every cent possible.
