Why does earned money expire?

I was stupid and didn't read that until just today (now that I'm a few days past the 180 days since sign up and lost about $10 worth, but that's my own fault for not reading all the details), but why do they make it so you lose the money if you don't cashout?  I never even considered having to worry about such a thing because I've not been on other sites that have such a "short" period of time before you lose it.  Pretty much I just want to know why that is - is it to make sure people stay active, or so that fusioncash makes extra money from all the members who sign up, do a few offers and leave, etc?

It's most likely for bookkeeping purposes. Why allow money to just hang in limbo forever and have to keep track of money the site has received but hasn't been able to payout?

I don't think 6 months is a short period of time at all.

Yeah it isn't really all that short, I've just had a habit in recent years of joining a site, doing some stuff then not coming back for a good number of months until I have time to be active on it again, I think only one other time has it affected earnings, but now that I know I'm gonna have to make sure to not vanish for too long

yes it happened to me once. i was sick and didnt enough time to go online. Was too sick. My account just expired, down to zero....

It's a valid question.... I'm on A LOT of earning sites and very few have expiring earnings. I can think of maybe 2 or 3 others.... and I track my earnings on like 85 sites.

I agree with others. 6 months is not a short period of time. And at the rate I'm going I am beginning to wonder if I will have 25.00 in 6 months.

I thought some other sites didn't have an expiration of credits until I went on a site that I had forgotten about and the majority of my money were gone. I had never seen that fact publicized like it is on this site

I don't think six months is a short period of time. It does say in the FAQ's that you have the 180 days to cash out so you just need to remember when the oldest ones are going to expire.

That or just cash out on a regular basis...

Because that's the fc policy to cashout within 6 months.
