I never drink tap water because it is flouridated.  I don't care what anyone says about flouride, I think it's bad.  It derived from aluminum which is bad for you.  I never had any cavities as a child, and we had well water.  I hot my first cavity as an adult when I moved.  My kids grew up on flouridated water and get a couple cavities a year.  People should research flouride.  I only drink bottled water if it's not flouridated.

Its clear but still, we use a filter and drink. I used to purchase water before but then I read in many articles that this bottled water is nothing but 'PTC' (Purified Tap Water). And another recent article mentioned in CNN health says that bottled water may even be less regulated than tap water. So, after that, I like to think that after purifying tap water, we should be safe.  ::) ;D But if ur water tastes funny, nothing else matters and u end up buying water.

You can check out this news at http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/07/13/bottled.water.safety/index.html

I know they treat our tap water with stuff to "clean" it, I've been to the water treatment plant several times. What keeps me from drinking tap water is simply the taste.  If it tastes disgusting, I'm not drinking it, and that's why I am even picky about the bottled water that I will drink. As of right now the only brand of bottled water that I will drink is Sparkletts, all the other taste like "tap water" (nasty taste and aftertaste).
Yeah, the cloudy, "i got floaties in my drink" appearance of tap water disgusts me too!

I live in the country and we have a well. I love my tap water and wouldn't even consider buying bottled water. Why would I pay for something that I get free ???

:o Oh! No! The answer is no. You do not know where that water has been. Some new homes have their faucet system connected to the boiler or some other water purification system...that is different. Old homes...probably have some old rusted pipes. Buying bottled water is the best you can do for you and your family.

Ew, I live in an old apartment that was built in the 70s. But not to worry, we buy lots and lots of bottled water. :D

I use tap water to cook so I just boil my water or microwave it rather, freeze afterwards, then drink. If you drink only bottled water then I hope you cook with that too. And oh don't eat in restaurants too because I don't think they cook with Poland spring  :)

my tap water isn't cloudy but to me it smells too much like the lake i live by so i just cannot drink it! so we installed a water filtration unit on our kitchen sink for drinking and cooking water and have even added a filter to our shower heads so that water doesn't smell like the lake either. occasionally i buy bottled water, usually for trips and times when i know we'll be out and about, but for everyday use we drink the water from our filtered faucet. and for work/school, my husband and son have the stainless steel "eco-bottles" to take water with them

The stuff here in Missouri is pretty good. Always clear, never a funny smell. I drink it regularly, when I don't have any more bottled water. It's not bad at all.

I boil my tap water, let it cool and put in the fridge. The taste is great and I enjoy it. It gives me al little more comfort as far as drinking tap water.

I live in Queens and technically we have some of the cleanest drinking water, but the pipes are another story. I've actually killed plants by giving them water straight from the tap! Needless to say, every living thing in my house now receives filtered water from the frig.
