Love this quote …

It all comes down to discipline. If you have your eye fixed on the prize, most distractions slide off like water poured over a duck.

My office environment is almost useless in terms of getting work done there are so many distractions and interruptions. I get more done in a few hours at home than all day at work.  :-\

That happens to me when my kids are around, because they always ask questions!

Yes it happens, but sometimes we're the ones who allow these distractions, rather than taking a small break we bring the distraction into our work environment making it at times harder to get rid of.

I agree.  It is sometimes difficult to get back on task after a phone call.

I have a bad problem about not being able to multi-task effectively. I've learned that if I get interrupted, I'll tell the person to give me a minute or so to finish whatever I was doing up to a point that is easy to come back to. Otherwise if I don't, I tend to just tune that person out, so I find it's less rude to stop them mid-sentence and have them wait till I finish than to tune that person out and give them the impression that I had heard what they felt was important enough to interrupt me with.

Having ADHD, being awake is a distraction, lol. But I was just diagnosed and very interested in learning more about it, and trying to cope.

Once again all you do is put down a word and make a statement, do you know how to start a discussion?

I totally understand what you say. After couple of distractions, I leave the stuff that I am doing, to focus on other things.
