the stray animals we see here are rabbits and cats.
if the residents from these apartments take pity on them, they hang around because they can get food.

I see deers, rabbits, beavers, cats, and ducks in my area. Ducks are always eating and pooping around my neighborhood. Side walks you have to maneuver or take another route when commuting by foot.

For the cats, I see 1 or 2 cats walking around my parking lot. Neighborhood fines people for feeding cats becuz they scratch up cars. Seen a cat sleeping on the hood of the car or a tire of a jeep early morning. I know some lady been feeding the cats every now and then

Haven't seen any stray animals at all in our neighborhood.   I do see a couple of cats wandering around but I believe someone owns them because they look very healthy.  Occassionally I will see a dog running loose but they usually turn out to be lost dogs (they have collars).   I have more trouble with a dog that my neighbor owns and ignores.   Poor thing has stayed tied up in their backyard for two years.  They come out and feed him and that's it.   I did call and report it and they came out to investigate but they said since he had a doghouse and food/water there was nothing they could do.   It's the saddest thing to watch.  Pouring down rain and there's that poor dog.  He gets no love or attention.

We don't see any stray animals around our house.  The animals we see are pets belonging to the neighbors.

We did see a wild fox cross our yard this week....just passing through.

So what's so bad about taking care of these animals?  They shouldn't only feed them (especially the cats), but try to find a Rescue Group who will help in the spaying/neutering of these cats so that they don't over populate.  No doubt a lot of these cats were DUMPED by people who didn't want them anymore.  If you're going to have an animal at any point in your life, it's your RESPONSIBILITY to take care of that animal.  You don't throw them away because they're sick or old.  Those are the kind of people that should NEVER have an animal of ANY kind.  People are stupid and to THINK before they ACT.

All my kitties are former strays.  I had a couple prolific queens at my previous place.  There's a few stray cats around this place too.  :cat:

No "strays" but a couple of abandon cats.  They have been spayed and neutered.  Three according to my neighbor are a mamma and her 2 sons.  The "sons" are several years old now.  My neighbor said she thought they had belonged to this couple who divorced (wife left first) and nobody took the cats.  Between our neighbor and us, we have been feeding them.  The sons are friendly but a bit spooky(and they are black too).  They would most certainly be killed if taken to the "shelter".  My neighbor is moving to a retirement community, so I guess we will have 2 more cats.

The last stray kitten I saw in my neighborhood is living with me.  It's been 2 1/2 years now,  I just LOVE him so much!!

Thankfully, in the area we live, most people take good care of their pets. On the odd occasion I have seen a stray dog roaming the streets, I have called our local Animal Shelter to come rescue them. On one occasion I was horrified to find that one huge dog on our street lived in the house next door! Had I known that, I wouldn't have wasted precious rescue resources and I would have sorted the issue out myself. My intentions were good.

I don't think they're strays, but every cat in the neighborhood comes in my garage and walks on top of my car.
I always have little paw prints all over it.

Kind of funny, but aggravating sometimes.
