I use credit cards as a way of building my credit and improving my credit score.  After I use and pay on a credit card for at least 6 months, paying MORE than the amount required and paying in a timely manner.....

I pay off the account and send a written request asking that the account be closed per consumer request.

Have a great day!

I use my debit card as a credit card all the time.

Online, I earn cashback using my Paypal debit card as a credit card too.

I almost always use a credit card whenever I can. So far this year we have over $500 coming from Discover as a kickback we don't get when using cash or debit cards. We pay off the entire balance every month, so our cost is NOTHING.

I use credit cards for large purchases or when I am shopping online.
I use cash most of the time for local purchases :turkey: :pumpkin: :peace:

I use credit card for recurring expenses and pay off my card in full every month. For day to day purchases I either use cash (try to use cash at restaurants) and debit card for everything else.

I prefer using my debit and or cash. But for a long distance and lots of motel rooms then I will use my credit card only if I am planning to pay it off when I get home. So much easier getting a room. Some motels want you to put up a large deposit if paying by cash. And I can understand it. Because if some one trashes a room they have a way of collecting for the damages. But it is such a hassel.

What's the logic in closing the account after 6 months? Closing an account can only hurt your credit score.

I use credit cards so I don't have to carry cash but then I pay them off every month.
