I think it is a big publicity stunt, free publicity.
Who cares truly about the cups, no one.
But tons of free publicity for Starbucks bringing in attention that they care about all religions and celebrations besides just the Christian one on Christmas.   It's all to be politically correct, I think.

Christmas is becoming a non-denominational holiday anyway.  I know several non-Christians who celebrate Christmas with a tree & everything because they like the lights and festivities.

I think if you have Jesus in your heart, what difference does a cup that you toss out in an hours or so make.  It is red and green...the traditional colors.  I do not recall any writing on the cup over the years, except the company name.Much ado about nothing.

Seriously, I too don't get what the whole problem is... So a non-religious company decides to have a non-religious coffee cup in order to increase their market-share by appealing to all regardless of religion. The people that are claiming that this is an attack on Christianity must not be watching the news where we have a true attack on Christianity going on in the Middle East with ISIS killing any and all people that profess to be a Christian. When Starbucks starts persecuting their customers for their religion, then I'll hop on the "War on Christianity" bandwagon.

BTW, since when are snowflakes and snowmen considered key to celebrating Christmas? SMH

I wasn't sure what it was either until i read news about it.  Seriously ridiculous! It's just a freaking cup.  Thought people went to Starbucks for their coffee not the way their cup looks.  Plus, it's not like you're going to save the cup, its going in the trash...smh

If it didn't matter, why would they change it? Starbucks caved to the PC Police and hyper-sensitive.

People will find ANYTHING to cause a fuss over these days.  I still don't see the uproar over "Happy Holidays".  The term was widely used 40+ years ago, it is used in the classic Christmas music,  the classic Christmas cartoons.  It covered the whole "Holiday Season" ... Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years.

I think Starbucks created the cup drama to keep people more focused on the outside of the cup so they don't start wondering "what is really INSIDE the cup?"   (If most people really knew what they were drinking in those cups, they'd never buy another.)

The cups featured nothing pertaining to Christians in the first place. The cups usually featured snowflakes, Santa and reindeer. That's more winter themed than anything. I really don't care what's on the cup. I just want my eggnog latte and peppermint mocha.
