Ever heard of putting your Christmas tree up on Christmas Eve?

Yes, I've heard of it for a variety of reasons, most mentioned here.  However, I admit, if I'm going to go to the trouble, I think they are so pretty and enjoyable once up that I usually decorate a small one (retired with no kids at home) about 2 weeks before Christmas and leave it up until about January 2 or 3!

Mom used to tell us how they put them up on Christmas eve and took them down new years eve when she was little.  I love putting ours up much earlier though

we use to put ours up the Sunday before, the tree was live and did not keep well at that time.

I guess that would work for SOME people.  Personally, I like to decorate a tree on Thanksgiving Day and begin listening to Christmas music.  I enjoy ANTICIPATING the holiday.  That's when I feel the spirit of Christmas.

I like to spend a lot of time looking at my Christmas tree and perfecting it, so i want it up real early, preferably just after Thanksgiving. Sometimes I find myself listening to the television but looking at my Christmas tree, day-dreaming! I like to hang ornaments and lights on the inside and the outside of the tree which gives it depth. Each year I buy one more ornament and so I have a story behind every hanging ornament on my tree!

No. Most people I know put them up the day after thanksgiving

as a tradition, we always put our tree up on thanksgiving night and take it down new years day. it has been like that for the last 25 years in my family

when I was a child we always put the tree up on Christmas Eve .. I think it was a way for my parents to save money and still be able to have a christmas tree for us.

Yes, heard of it. Usually our family puts up a tree on Thanksgiving night or at least by the Thanksgiving weekend.

Yes, I've heard of it too. In fact, some people put up all there decorations and the tree on Christmas Eve. My family's tradition is after Thanksgiving we decorate for Christmas so we have the entire month of December to enjoy the tree, the decorations, and the festivities.

Yes I did that. the 12 days of Christmas. Christmas Eve party, you decorate the whole house outside too.

I think some people do that because it's a family tradition.  It can be a lot of fun for others bringing family together and having fun on Christmas Eve.  I see nothing wrong with it.

I have heard of people doing this, but for me if I am going to put up a tree I want to enjoy it for several days before Christmas.

I have heard of people doing that but I wouldn't bother at that point.  Everyone to their own thing though.

Yes, when I was a child my parents always put up the Christmas tree on Christmas eve.  It was a fun and exciting time for all of us.  Loved it!
