daylight
« on: October 29, 2015, 09:20:28 am »
soon, it will be darker for more hours than not.
I don't know of many,if any, people who like the time change.
there is a joke about it:

there was a man who stayed up all night waiting for the sun.
morning came and it dawned on him.

I like the FB post that I saw just the other day:

I love setting the clocks back so that the sun sets at 4PM...
... said no one ever.

Although when I was in college, I did like rolling the clocks back in the fall... It usually meant that the bars would remain open an hour later (they close at 2am, so with the time change, the bars got an extra 1am-2am hour).

Yes it is now still pitch black out when I get up for work, and dark when I go home, not fun.

I really do not see the need for these fall and spring clock changes.  I wish we would just stay on standard time year round.  Somebody comes up with these things and then we get stuck with them forever.  It's really totally useless.

I like the extra sleep but I don't like that it gets dark and colder must earlier.

I hate it, it always throws me off. I get tired too early and it makes me uneasy to see blackness outside my window in the late afternoon. It's just weird to me and I don't like it.  ???

I hate the time change, It means my body have to get accustomed to waking up at a completely different time. I don't like that.

That doesn't sound like a joke, and the time should just stay the same all year round like in Arizona  8)

Daylight savings time this Sunday, fall back time 1 hour everyone.

You mean Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday... DST is during the summer months to provide an extra hour of daylight in the evening during the summer. This is a fairly common misunderstanding, mostly because during the summer, people already have more daylight than during the winter, so it would make more sense to "save" daylight during the winter when you have fewer daylight hours.

I would also like to have just one time instead of changing the clocks twice a year, but instead of year-long standard time, I'd rather have year-long DST.
