response to compliments

some people feel uncomfortable receiving compliments.

there are a few ways to respond besides saying "thank you".

yes, isn't it nice?
I think it's great.
doesn't it look nice?
I though it would be a good idea.

I think it's a good thing to receive compliments I have no problems with it

i am not used to getting compliments so they make me feel uncomfortable --i usually just say thank you and change the subject or walk away --

I don't mind compliments from my family and other women ("I love your hair." "I love your bag. Where you get it?") but compliments from men makes me uncomfortable, because 99% of the time it escalates into something else. They rarely compliment and keep it moving.

I've had to teach myself to let compliments in and just say "thank you".  If you reply by putting down whatever the compliment is about you are rejecting the compliment and therefore the giver, as well as blocking that good energy.

At my age I really do enjoy a compliment.  For the most part I have never had a problem accepting one. I usually try to compliment them back about some thing on them or about them. There is always something to say. If they go out of their way to be nice to me why not be nice too them.
