Spiders
« on: October 11, 2015, 12:03:07 pm »
Why are people so freaked out by spiders?

I was in the kitchen yesterday, washing dishes when I heard a loud clatter out front.
I went to see what was happening.

There was a man and several young boys standing in my yard, looking up at the roof.
The man tossed a stick up towards the roof, and said he was trying to "get that spider."

I looked, and sure enough, there was a spider building its' web from my roof to the roof of the next apartment.

I asked the man why he wanted to kill it, and he said, "It's a spider!"

He couldn't understand why I didn't want it dead too.

So I guess there's another neighbor that thinks I'm weird.
I just don't see the need to kill something just because it's there.

I feel that way too, why kill something when you don't have too. Spiders do help with pest control without using poisons. But if you have too many spiders, FYI, you know, you will be swallowing them in your sleep.  lol  but on the other hand, I have been bitten by a spider in my sleep that was not pleasant, their bite can be painful and poisonous too.  I can chase my hubby around with a spider. lol

For their sizes they are somewhat scary and it is not exactly the greatest thing to be bitten by one.

I'm afraid of all insects and spiders. But I do my best to let them live in peace.  I don't really appreciate a spider in the house, but I try to take them outside if I happen to see one.  I like snakes.

I really don't like spiders at all but I don't kill them to be killing them.  I hate walking into their webs and they're bad this time of year.

I don't have a problem with spiders especially if they are on roof not bothering anyone. They are very good at catching bugs so let them do there job. rodents I am not crazy about at all but still were prefer not t kill them unless they were in my house :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :peace:

Starting to like Spiders a lot better than Silver Fish... Those things are annoying and pop out of of nowhere.. Spiders are better since they are stationary and don't run around crazy

I don't know exactly what it is but I just don't like them. If they're outside and doing their own thing I won't go out of my way to kill them. However if I seem them in my house it's a different story.

I'm with you there. I figure outside is their space, and I'm the intruder.

But inside, in my space, all bets are off.    ;D

WHY was he worried about a spider on YOUR roof?  Do you live in a duplex or house strip or apartment?  If it is YOUR house I would have run him off.  Along with his physco friends that felt the need to throw sticks at MY house.  Smh.

I don't particularly care for spiders but I am not going to run screaming if I see one.  I think that is foolishness.  But I do not want them crawling on me either.
