Hypertension
« on: October 07, 2015, 08:34:39 pm »
I have felt really nervous for a while, and I think it's because of my hypertension. Does hypertension make someone nervous, or does being too nervous cause hypertension?

That's an interesting question....they probably go hand in hand and help perpetuate each other...

I've had problems with high blood pressure and I don't usually know based on how I feel.  The only way I know is by being tested in my Dr. Office or if I sit down and test myself in a store near the pharmacy.

I take medication for my blood pressure and I take a different medication for anxiety.
Have a great day!

That's what hypertension is.

I've been told that stress and carrying around a few extra pounds contributes to high blood pressure. I've also been told that eating more fruit and vegetables, getting more rest and exercise can help bring blood pressure levels back to normal.

I have had a really busy schedule recently and barely got to rest. Maybe that's what has been causing the problem.

I was in a high stress job and my blood pressure was very high. I went on a low salt diet and lost weight and although it was better it still wasn't were it should be.
I left my job. Slowly my blood pressure came down. If I am stressed it goes up.

A lot of it is stress or being over weight, or in my case it is being cause by my thyroid and graves .  If they ever get it under control will help along with calming the A-fib.  Sometimes I get really stressed out when hubby puts off doing things that need to be done also.

I'm not sure if hypertension make you nervous.  I do know that it can cause lots of problems.  My daughter was pregnant and her blood pressure went extremely high all of a sudden and she ended up delivering 6 weeks early.

I found out that I don't think I have hypertension for real anymore. My blood pressure monitor does not determine blood pressure or pulse right at all (unless it's a lucky guess).
