It's funny but coloring is still a fun activity, even for adults.

I bought an adult coloring book a couple of weeks ago, and I use the twistable crayons with it.
I used to have nice colored pencils, but I moved and haven't been able to find them since.

I colored a page in my book for the first time the other night. I was in a really upset, almost depressed mood. I started to color, and by the time I was finished, I wasn't necessarily happy, but I wasn't so deep in my funk anymore either.

I'm an artist and know how therapeutic art can be.  One of my goals is to create coloring books.  I got some from the dollar store and have enjoyed coloring in them.  It's a no-brainer activity that's great when I'm sick or exhausted, but restless.  Now I see the ads for the adult books.  I realize that everyone can't draw their own mandalas and such so they they need a starting point.  I think it's a great way to meditate and de-stress.  8)

I saw some in a catalog and have thought about giving it a try. I'm a creative person by nature but get so busy I don't think about it a lot.

I must say that I was a bit worried about opening your post when you stated "Adult" coloring book! I love coloring! Whenever I took my kids to a restaurant I would grab a kid's menu and color away.  Makes my wife happy, too, because it would keep me quiet! By doing this I also kept the kids engaged.  What a great way to keep the mind going (besides doing fusion cash tasks)! I also like when we go to a local sushi restaurant that has paper table clothes. I draw pictures and the kids color them in, or, we play all kinds of games like connect the dots or tic tac toe. Even with both kids getting into their later teens we always enjoy coloring and playing games. I always make sure that my car has a deck of cards, cribbage board and a deck of Uno cards.

I saw one of those books in the store. I like coloring, but I admit those patterns look boring. If I was to color I'd probably rather buy a Batman coloring book or something!

Google JediJohnnie and May the Force be with you!

Some coloring books at the dollar store, like one for kids, would be a good alternative even. Sometimes you just don't want to spend time coloring in intricate drawings, you just want to color. At least I do.

They are great. I have a sea life one and a creative cats one. They definitely help when you are stressed. I have always loved coloring anyways.
