I have always loved Lasagna. My mom would always make it from scratch for  me and my little sister back in the old days when we were little. Now it's just going to the store picking up some frozen Lasagna  already made never tastes like homemade. What I loved most was the cheese and sauce and meat she would always put three different types of cheeses in lasagna.

Sounds like a good substitution.  Hints like this one are always handy - Thanks

Wellllll, I'm of Italian descent and I wouldn't DREAM of using cottage cheese or yogurt.  Everything will remain "traditional" here - whole milk Ricotta and Mozzarella.

I always use mozzarella and Parmesan and sometimes ricotta, but you might want to try breaking tradition just one time and try the Greek yogurt as well. I betcha no one would know and I bet they would rave about it. It's worth a shot!

I can't believe how much everyone liked it when I tried it.  My oldest son doesn't even like lasagna, but he said it was good. Besides I like varying recipes. You can come up with some great stuff. Being Italian, I don't believe you're really that rigid about ingredients. Italians are bold, romantic and adventurous, right?  :in-love:

Being Italian gets lost when you are an American living in America...  the great melting pot, where the rules for lasagna (and many things) get lost in the morphing of cultures.   I love lasagna and have never tried it with greek yogurt, I think there may be trendy restaurants here in So Cal that make it like that, Greek-Italian fusion cuisine, now I'm curious to find one and check it out.  :

I love lasagna but I never use cottage cheese in it.  I'll use ricotta or mozzarella cheese.  I despise yogurt so I would never use it, either.
Have a wonderful day!

Make your own lasagna and try to recreate what your mom did. Don't let cooking scare you off.  You can go online or find recipes right on packages of pasta sometimes, so give it a try.

I bet you'll love the results! Cooking can be gratifying when you eat the results yourself. And whether your mom is still around or not, she'll be proud of you.

Then substitute Greek yogurt for the cottage cheese. You might like it and your husband will probably love it.  :highfive:
