Does anybody own a pet turtle?

Its really easy to take care of me and my sister had a turtle when we were kids until our mom gave it away behind our backs >< but we did had it and took care of it for about  9 years before that happened.

Sounds like it would be a great first pet for a child to learn the responsibility of taking care of one.   Never had one but I'm sure the internet if filled with valuable advice.   Not sure I've ever noticed them in a pet store.

We have a pet turtle at the moment. We have been trying to find a new owner for it. I wish you guys live in town so we can bring it over to your son and he can take care of it. It is very easy to take care. The one we have loves lettuces  That's all it eats. It is so easy to take care all you have to do is clean up its environment where you are going to keep it every week in a rubber container is what we have.

Turtles are so cute but have never owned one I did hear that they carry salmonella but I don't know if that means you can catch it from them.  Well best of luck to you in making your decision.  Kids love to have pets - that is how we ended up with two cats and a dog lol.

I'm not a fan of cleaning tanks so it's too much for me but if he doesn't mind, I say why not. They're pretty cheap and easy otherwise. Very cute too ^^
