Realized why some Videos don't work in Chrome

If you are having trouble with doing some videos, it's because Chrome stopped supporting certain versions of Shockwave, Flash, and Adobe.

I had a video that didn't work, the long playing 22 minute one from Yahoo (Ladders?). Shockwave crashed (which isn't unusual) and got an explanation. It was automatically marked disabled. I had to check a box allowing it to run temporarily.

So if you use Chrome and get notice of Shockwave crashing, you have to enable the plugins.

Thanks for the heads up I have a lot of those issues and most times I jsut move to IE and work fine, but now I know why

I have an old MacBook. I can not use Safari for many offers so I very often use Chrome. However, I am having and have been having many issues with Chrome including Shockwave and plug ins crashing. Thank you for your explanation.  I can not use IE because I have an Apple but I can use Firefox. My preference is still Chrome when possible but there have been times when I was forced to use Firefox.

I wonder what the future is going to bring with trying to use Chrome.

              Even though I use Chrome the most,  it's shockwave crashes a lot.  Some times I use Opera,  but on that browser the video's won't load sometimes.   IE and FireFox have both been giving me a lot of trouble for a while now.    Wish the internet would come up with a better browser!

I just recently switched to Chrome since I wasn't having much luck watching videos on IE.  Then today I notice I'm having issues with Chrome; very frustrating.

I switch to chrome a while back since flash stopped working for me in firefox. If the issue is going to be the same in chrome that's going to be frustrating.

Thanks for the heads up! I switched from Chrome to Firefox since Shockwave and Flash started crashing on the videos. Lately, Firefox has been giving me the same issue, but it seems to be less frequent with the crashes compared to Chrome. Hopefully, it doesn't get any worse.

Chrome does not support Java on so sites either. Weird

I think it has to do more with the webpages and the videos than the browsers.  I use Firefox for this stuff and when shockwave/flash has crashed it has always been on pages with a lot of stuff going on such as ad videos as well as the video we are suppose to be watching.  But once it happens the only solution to get things working properly again is to reboot the computer.

Thanks for the heads up. I switched from chrome to firefox. Now firefox crashes. Hmmm.
