exercise
« on: August 13, 2015, 06:55:01 am »
I try to do at least one exercise each day.
I do a lot of walking.
I have a file of exercises I have found over the years.
sometimes, it seems that exercise is not enough to keep my balance.
I was wondering if anyone invented a shoe or some insert to keep a person steady.
Years ago, there was the walkfit insert.

I need to be doing regular exercise but just can't quite make myself get to it.  I know that as I get even older some form of exercise is going to keep me going but its just hard for me to stay committed.  Hopefully I can change that before too much longer.
And, Gerianne I don't know of anything to help with your balance issue.

I run 3-4 times a week. I do cross training and/or strength training 5 days a week. And I walk at least twice a day during work days. I think it is important to keep moving.

You can go to places like jock and jill or good feet and they can give you recommendations. As a therapist i send low income people to big 5 for inserts . they have to be replaced often  but its worth it .

I am not aware of any insert for shoes for balance.
If you need help with balance, you should practice yoga poses; those poses will help you develop the muscles to keep your core and balance strong.  It will make you very aware of where you need to focus on while you do the poses.

I run & do early morning bootcamp :)

I workout every day, and I know that it can be rough on your feet.  I'm not sure about the shoes you are looking for, but if anybody finds a good pair, I'd love to know.

I hit the gym a couple times a week
on the other days I walk and do other excercies for an hour plus a day
sometimes it is hard to stay motivated and fresh but if I don't exercise just about every day I have trouble walking

Been slacking off, but I like to go hiking and do work out dvd's. I have a gym membership, but haven't gone in quite a bit. Exercise is very important - no matter what age you are.

I been exercising 5 times a week since I was 18 years old. And on Jan. 2014 I added a daily 45 minute walk through my neighborhood on my list.
