Why do stores put holiday things out two months early

Very frustrating seeing everything for MONTHS - I am ready for the season to be over before it starts! Lol

It seems to creep up earlier each year. Kind of nauseating, in my opinion.

However, it's been happening for so long now, I've come to expect it.

I guess it is a strategy. The earlier they display holiday ornaments, the more money they make and they also give customers plenty of time to purchase these gifts.

It's all about the money! I say every year they put it out way too early.

some folks like buying ahead of time before the rush on school stuff or toys or electronics.  Stores have limited storage space and do you really want to buy a costume or decorations just a week before the event?  A lot of folks want to plan ahead and not wait for the last minute.  Just wait until the week before school starts or the holidays arrive if you don't want the early bird view.

I know, it is too early to look at Halloween stuff, and soon they will have Christmas stuff out and it will be too early to look at that. LOL

It's all about the money, it's disgusting! I like to enjoy one holiday at a time, not have them shoved down my throat months early just so retailers could make an extra buck.

If it was only 2 months early it wouldn't be so bad, but it's much longer than that.  I saw some Halloween things in July.

Some people really like to plan ahead? I don't buy any holiday themed anything, so it is a waste for me.

Everybody is tryin to make that dollar. Have stuff out early to attract customers so that they would want to buy it.

I live in Arizona and I used to work in retail. I always thought it was so silly to start displaying thanksgiving items in August when it's still 115 outside. I guarantee nobody is grateful for either of those things!
