Im a bit torn on this, first Id say yes, being military they have the training to carry a firearm, and if they saw any combat they would of carried one daily.

However another part of me wonders, as we do hear that once in awhile, someone military having a mental issue and going off and killing others

I think the military should be armed. after all they are here to protect our country and us.  If the troops would have been armed so many may not have died, not would they have  when the military was shot in Ft. Hood by another Muslim.  The policemen are armed, the secret service are armed. Yes once in a while a wing nut shows up anywhere. But percentage wise no. We have so many thugs, criminals and wingnuts out there that should not have a gun. They are the ones the government should go after first. And most of those guns are illegal. I have  never known of a gun shooting a person.  But there people out there that are intent on doing mayhem.

. Any way, all the times, I have been hurt, attacked on the job, was because my employer tells me I can not carry weapons, not even pepper spray.

Yes I do. First of all, they are military so it just seems obvious to me. They have been trained and can step in should something happen. Secondly, we still have the right have guns even if people have a problem with that part of the constitution.

EVERYONE should be able to arm themselves.  Every person has the right to be able to protect themselves.  But here is the thing about the situation you are talking about.  He was in a moving car so not really a chance to shoot back.  Second, if he walked in and started shooting and one of them shot him you can guarantee his family would sue and most likely get them charged with killing their baby that was doing something so out of character and of course not their fault at all.
