from time to time i will keep the containers however you have to be really careful about doing so because some of the containers are not meant to be reused and can actually leech junk into your food especially when putting hot food in them.

Yes, I save them and use for a while.  I use them when we have company to send home food in, then I don't feel bad about not getting the container back.   I don't get to many things that come in plastic.

I use to save plastic containers and lids but had a problem with not enough storage space. Now I purchase Rubbermaid Throw Always they are economical and very stackable.  Plastic food containers and lids I now recycle if they are recyclable.  :)

I keep some of the plastic containers, particularly margarine, sliced ham, turkey, etc. as they are good to use again.

Oh, yes!!  I have a whole cabinet full!!  I never buy reusable containers because I have so many cool whip and butter containers!
