I had a familier situation on this matter. I only stated that everyone had their rights to state their own opinions, but I guess to the minds of those who dont care, just stirred up afew commotions. I found myself arguing back and forth with so many who just didnt understand or cared, I finally gave up because I didnt see myself getting anywhere with them,  so I let things be. I ignored  their messages and so forth. I guess, after they realized I wasnt repling to their messages, they  finally left me alone. Never felt so relieved, I was finally out of drama.

Yes, this has happened to me about a couple of times. I only comment on new stories that relate to me personally. I have been called a freak and a daydreamer.....whatever!!! Lol
I avoid commenting on anything now because of the hate spreading around the internet in huge portions. This is a very sad situation, but I take it as a situation that can be avoided in my control. Trolls are just there because they know that they can get away with their ridiculous comments hiding behind a computer screen. Just ignore them and only comment if the story relates to you personally, if not, then don't bother to comment!  :glasses-nerdy:

Yeah, it's crazy how mean and violent people can be toward someone they don't even know simple because they state their opinion.  And most times when people get so riled and start attacking someone THEY have misunderstood the comment to start with.

Makes sense.  I use to comment on yahoo but I don't any more.  Most of the comments just make me angry anyways.  People are just flat out mean and evil.

Yeah, I do that too now.  Even sites like this one where things are more strictly controlled at times it is still an act of congress to get a comment removed.  Although over all I think people on here are pretty cool with their comments.  And you can disagree with someone without attacking them.  And sometimes when you disagree if you can just have a discussion you can see things a different way.

I participate in a number of specialized forums and although I have heated arguments on certain topics, surprisingly I have been fortunate to get to the point of personalized attacks. We have been able to keep on topic.

You should not have to do that.  You should be able to express your opinion in a public forum without being called names, put down, insulted, or attacked.

That's good.  People should be able to discuss and have different view points without having to resort to putting the other person down.  Don't ya think?

I see people resort to personal attacks all the time on Facebook because they don't have a real argument. I expect that from teenagers but these are usually older people. I've never felt the need to resort to insulting a person's looks, job, education, etc because I don't have a valid argument but I see it so often

I wouldn't waste my time arguing with someone who sits on a computer and do those things. Do not let them steal your joy.
