Just lost my mother

I just lost my mother, the only parent I ever had and ever knew. I am beyond devastated. I can't think straight. I can't sleep. I can't eat. I'm trying so hard not to panic, to try to keep my anxiety and depression from taking over so intensely. I'm terrified of losing what little we have, including our home and her car, and I just don't know what to do or where to turn. If anyone knows of any non-profits or individuals/groups that might be able to help me and my siblings with legalities and finances, please let me know.

when my grandmother died last year may god rest her soul. the church was over there right after to go over "the next steps" and what have you.. they were very supportive of everything and they even helped with the fianances.. So i would say that.. You might wanna see if she had a will because if not it's going to be alot harder to get people to talk to you we found this out the hard way.. I am sorry for your loss and hope you get the help you need and deserve you will be in my thoughts and prayers

I am so very sorry for your loss.  I am a little confused why you think you will lose everything.  If uour mom had a will that would decide who gets what.  If she didn't I was under the impression (i may be wrong but I don't think so), assets go to next of kin.  If your dad is alive and they are still married he would get it, if not it probably will be divided among the children.  I am not sure what happens if your mother had more outstanding bills and debts than her assets.  Good luck!

I'm so sorry for your loss. When my grandpa died one place that helped us out on what to do was the funeral home we took him to. I don't know if you attend church at all but they're usually more than willing to help someone out through a tough time like this.

I am sorry for your loss.  Did she have a will?  Do you know where she kept her important papers like insurance, deed registration etc?

I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother.  I had some warning before my mother passed away, and it was still devastating.  So I know how it must feel to you.  May God bless you and your family.  I wish I knew of something to tell you, but the previous posters have made very good suggestions.
