Chronic pain and house work
« on: May 15, 2015, 04:24:57 am »
For those that suffer with any kind if chronic pain like I do, doing house work as a project helps. Unless I
am having a ok day, I have to do one or two house projects at a time
in order to get my pain at a mininum.

How do you schedule yourself?

I just do a little at a time and do some internet or whatever then go back and do a little more - in addition to chronic pain I also have Afib which gives me shortness of breath so I just have to do the best I can as I can.  Good luck to you.

My pain problem comes from gardening, so I rotate my activities.  But I lack discipline. I usually do one thing until I can't take it anymore, then do a different task that hurts somewhere else. Basically, I'm paralyzed by the time I go in the house.

I pace myself so not to let the pain get the better of me.

I have good days & bad days (fibro).  The good days are hard because I usually end up overdoing it & then am totally exhausted/fatigued for next few days, which contribute to extra bad days.  The bad days are horrible because NOTHING gets done.  It's a never-ending battle.

I still work full time while being very ill on top of house chores, so I mostly function in some weird fog. The house doesnt get cleaned. It disgusts me. Although to be fair, it isn't really me that makes it gross. My husband cannot clean up after himself or look around a room and see that it is filthy.

I am a shell of my former self.

I have to do housework a little at the time and rest in between.  Today I washed my car and then had to sit down for awhile.
