went shopping for groceries today

i get to the store and found out my grocery store closed down i couldn't beleive it they open it 6 months ago and its gone already so now in got to find another store  to shop at

Wonder what happened....   We've had shops close because of a death in the family & owner didn't want to continue with the business, maybe something like that happened.

I have to go get groceries today....hate it.  lol

That is strange!  Was it a Bottom Dollar Store?  We had a few of them in our town that have been bought out by another grocery chain and have closed.

wow .. that's a bummer ... hate going to new stores until I get used to where everything is.  I do not go up and down every aisle .. just the ones I need to be in.

Most times there is no warning.  We had a big name grocery store a few years ago and they closed and no one knew it ahead of time.  I don't think employees knew either.  Actually, I know they didn't because people can't keep their mouth shut about stuff.  It would have gotten out.  I don't think people knew til they drove out there and it was closed.  They were pretty expensive and the stores that are expensive are not going to make it.  They just won't.  I go to Walmart because they are the cheapest.  I don't care why people hate Walmart.  I have to shop where my money goes the farthest.

dwggs - Sometimes you can find really good deals on aisles you don't go up or down.

What a surprise - I know there is a lot of competition among grocery stores, but 6 months isn't very long to be open.

Don't ya hate that. I have had that happen to me but the store was there for at least 4 yrs and I was sad when they left. Here in Cali they now have so many grocery stores almost on every other 5 blocks or 7 miles now that I shop at 4 different ones now because the prices on certain foods are different and the meats are fresher at some stores than at others

I haven't seen that with grocery stores but local restaurants in my town don't survive long

We had a couple close in our area, but they had mark down prices lower and lower for the last few weeks, at the end you could even buy display racks.  They were bought out by a bigger market.

Strange, most store's that close near me post the store's closing.
