HELP!!!!
« on: April 09, 2015, 03:21:41 pm »
I'm in serious need of a new car about right now. I don't know how much time i got. My engine is going on it. it's 4 cylinder. 2 of them have 150 pressure they require and 1 has 60 other 65.  I'm *bleep* poor. Don't have good credit. I tried credit cards. auto loans and all rejected me. my last resort is a place called either drive time or auto connection where it's like $1.00 down but the car will cost like double or triple once i get done paying. what else can i do? anyone got ideas? Please help. And also anyone know really how long i'll still be able to drive my car and when it'll stop? HELP please!!! How much longer i got before the engine goes clunk and stops?

They have a few charities that help in donating cars. Here is one site I myself am going to try
http://www.onlinecardonation.org/ Good luck.  One more thing. Do you know anyone who fixes cars. Sometimes when something goes wrong with our car we buy parts from the junkyard and have a mechanic that we know do repairs versus going to expensive places where they jack up prices. Hope this helps.

Yikes, hope all goes well for you. I wish you well and think positive and never put out into the Universe that you are "poor" or you will become of it. Sending prayers that your car gets fixed soon!

If you need a vehicle to get to work, can you use public transportation until you can some cash together.  I live in a small town so you can walk practically everywhere.  But if you live in a larger community, that certainly won't work.  Do you have friends? or family? who could help you.

Best of luck, I know we just got rid of 2 old clunkers to get one....it was a nightmare with our credit.  We got it through a private party.  What a relief, so I know how you feel.   Sometimes it feels like we take 3 steps forward and 4 steps back and to the side!  Just try to stay positive.  (I know easier said than done.)

Sometimes you do what you have to do.   It might cost you more but if it allows you to be able to have a car then that is what you have to do.

No one can tell you how long your car can keep going - not even a mechanic unless he's psychic.

Before you go to DriveTime or Auto Nation, go to a a regular dealer. Some dealers will let you split up your down payment into multiple payments as long as you have income coming in. You can even walk away with a brand new car. The downside is yes, your interest rate is going be higher, but dealers have access to finance companies you don't have access to.

I suggest you find a fuel economy car that's proven to be reliable and make sure it's within your budget. Then go to a dealer and see what deal they can make you. In some cases, it may be even easier to get a new car than a used one. Let Auto Nation and Drive Time be your last resort.

Hope this helps!

Just a word of advice.  DON'T go to "Drive Time."  They will most certainly let you buy one of their cars, but I warn you, they're ALL junk and you WILL wind up paying $30,000 for a CLUNKER.  Don't believe me?  Go to ripoffreport.com and just type "Drive Time" in.  I call them "Drive By" LOL.

You may be able to qualify for a used vehicle.  Payments are quite low.  I would suggest checking out vehicles for change.

Thank you for that link.  I'm going to apply too.  My car died four years ago.  I'm on assistance and live in a small town with no mass transit.  I have arthritis and have had to rely on friends but they've either gotten sick or moved away.  Walking gave me planter fasceitis and my trike got stolen.  I hate being a burden anyway so this could be a solution.  I never thought to look here.  I hope this works for all of us.   :notworthy: :highfive:

Ask that guy in Michigan for a loan, the one who walked 20 miles to work, hmmm.  Maybe he can lend you some of that 300K he got along with the free car :highfive: 8)

I don't even have a car right now due to the fact I am poor also and have bad credit, mostly because I tried to help my children and they didn't pay the bills. Getting old and sick is no fun.
