Has Anybody Ever Used Kickstarter?

I am thinking about putting a book project of mine on kickstarter in order to pay for costs of an artist cover, hard copies for supporters, and making ebook.  I was wondering if anybody has had experience with the site for creating a project or backing successful projects? thank you  i was thinking about raising $500 or so is that a workable goal if people are interested in your project?

I've heard of kickstarter but have never used it myself.  I have occasionally browsed the site to see what projects people are trying to fund.  There are some interesting ones out there.

I've never used it, but I'm thinking of writing an ebook this spring and considering doing the same thing. hope someone has insight.

I have never used this app but i have only heard really good things about it, i am going to look into using it as soon as i get time to do that!
