Children who swear
« on: February 28, 2015, 04:26:49 pm »
I live in the suburb but I was visiting my mom in the city. I overheard these two little kids about 9 or 10 arguing loudly on the bus with each other saying things like f u stupid b***ch.
I was about to say something to them when another lady started telling them about how it was rude and disrespectful. They started cursing her out. They waited til it was time for them to get off the bus and threw a pop bottle at her and ran off. That could've been me. Wow. I was as mad as everyone who saw this.

i think it is because of the parents i can honestly say my kids knew better  the parents now a days don't teach the kids respect so the kids do what they want i tell any kid that i here swearing or cussing they need to go and say it in front of there parents or they need soap in there mouths parents need to stop being afraid of the threat that if you punish or give them a smack across the *bleep* they would learn something but they treaten the parents with i am going to call hrs i said that once to my mom and she told me go right ahead because when i am done with you  you will need hair replacement service

Unbelievable what kids get away with.  We NEVER would have acted like that but I guess we knew our parents would find out if we even considered it.  I really didn't learn swear words until I was in High School and even then, new when I could get away with using them and it didn't include anywhere in the hearing of an adult.

I think alot of kids now have no respect for anything.  I also think they learn from home.  When I was young and at home my parents did not swear, nor did my husband or me when our kids were little.  Oh sure there were times they might have heard us say shxxt or h??l, but not the swearing you hear now.

Im 28 and I don't feel comfortable cursing around my parents.  Back in my day your parents I couldn't even say dang or shoot because they were too close to the curse words.

I bet if all the adults present would have supported the woman who started telling them about their behavior, they would have not have acted as badly as they did.  Too often, the problem is we want to not be involved.  What we have to realize is that if the majority stands up for something, the one or two will usually back down and possible realize certain actions will not be tolerated...in any situation.

That kind of abuse and disrespect will eventually land those kids in jail.  Hopefully, they'll receive some tough love and learn to be more respectful before that happens so they can be functional members of society.

Have a great day!

Sadly, I hear that on the Metro as well. The only problem with approaching them is that you never know what (if anything) they have in their pockets. Luckily it was a bottle that you saw, but it could've been worse. The only thing to do is to pray for them.

Parents allow their child to behave this way, In my house it's not and won't be tolerated. If it's done it won't be in my presence. I teach my child to study words to express himself intelligently.
