I don't have extreme weather but I am amazed that you guys can be ok with all that snow. I can't even handle 38 degrees.

We're still okay with the wood. We use a Central Boiler (outdoor wood furnace) and it heats our house and the garage. My husband's friend, who also has a Central Boiler, had a friend who needed to clear some 15 acres of woods.....with my husband only getting the 'tops,' but they were still pretty large and had to be split.

This year was a good test of the CB. We bought it used 2 years ago and hubby had a lot of "fixing" to do to it that year but the winter wasn't very harsh. This year was the true test and it came through with flying colors. It's so nice to have central heat.

Our foot of snow is melting now as it is in the 40's today and going to be above freezing the rest of the week.  Thank goodness for that.  I am very sick of winter although Dec. and Jan. weren't too bad.  Feb. was terrible.
