O lucky Day
« on: February 16, 2015, 02:17:48 pm »
One year my two cousins went to the store for their mom for mother's day.. and found $400 cash on the ground... they spent every penny on their mom's mother's day since they couldn't really afford a whole lot for her and then they could...

What would you have done if you found money on the ground?

I have, from pennies to a $20 bill.  It depends on the amount and location.  If I saw someone drop it I'd give it to them without a thought.  If it was a large amount I'd turn it into the police department, that's what I'd want someone else to do.  Small amounts though are fair game.  In fact I believe my late dad sends me pennies to cheat me up when I'm down.

Man~I guess if it was in front of a store I'd tell customer service and give them my number to call me if someone said they lost money~but I wouldn't tell them how much I found!=)

If I picked up a whole wallet, I'd hand it into customer service and would expect that they would announce it over the tannoy. If I found a wad of cash, I'd have to give it in to the Police Department. But if I saw a dollar bill or a coin or even a few coins, in all honesty I'd probably keep it. If for example someone paid for some goods at the self checkout and decided to withdraw cash at the same time, and they failed to notice the notes being churned out from the cash dispenser, I'd have to hand it to a Cashier or Customer Service. I couldn't keep it.

I would have turned it into the store manager so they can report it to the police.

The most I've ever found was $10.00 and that was a long time ago.

I have never found anything above 25cents so I can't really say what I would do.  I hope that I do the right thing

If I saw someone drop it I would pick it up and tell them that they had dropped it and give it back to them. If not then I'll keep it. Unless it's a wallet with no matter how much amount of money in it and the person isn't around I would turn it in.
